"3.Media was our savior! We knew we had a lot of information and DATA to manage, and a lot of it that would be rapidly changing DATA, and it needed to be accessed by different people in different places. It would have taken over 3 months to hire enough people to handle all of our I.T. needs, and even longer to solidify a bonafide I.T. department. We are comfortable with 3.Media overseeing our network infrastructure, and keeping our environment of databases and VPN's secure and out of the hands of would-be evil-doers. "

Logic Aesthetic Case Study

picture of Logic Aesthetic LogoThe clothing business can be a complex and scary world. The environment can become quite intimidating with the task of having to keep track of the numerous supply vendors, lowest material prices, image copyright law, not to mention staying hip to the latest fashion trends. Top that off with having to be in numerous places at once with all of the trade conventions and product unveilings, etc, and you've got the recipe for one gigantic headache, or a script to a nightmare.

Enter - Logic Aesthetic. The start-up urban fashion design company from Youngstown, Ohio consulted with 3.Media to not only handle their visual marketing campaign, but to provide I.T. administration as well. We equipped their headquarters, located in Youngstown, with the neccessary servers to assure secured access to the network for their five on-site employees. Different user-groups had to be created and even included one for temporary employees, contracted personnel, select other parties (wholesale, distribution, sales associates).

Logic Aesthetic also needed several databases constructed, some of which were to be connected to extranets and other databases not on or non-exclusive to their native network infrastructure. After this task was accomplished, Logic Aesthetic was able to place orders of materials, track them to thier manufacturing site and document their production phases, maintain real-time inventory intelligence with the ability to provide this information to their sales force, track their exportation for sale in stores (as well as from thier own online store), all while being able to analyze and crunch sales figures.

Whew! That was a lot of information! It doesn't stop there though. Logic Aesthetic is a company comprised of young, hip and somewhat advant-garde urbanites who didn't want the boring and uptight office environment. Afterall, the company designs clothes for the young urban crowd aged 16-35. The task was to provide a "fuzzy", contemporary, artistic environment all while maintaining the professional atmosphere. Easy - because 3.Media mirrors that spiritual sentiment.

We began by asking how could we even seep into the visual realm while being cast into the technical abyss of end-point and node connections, file permissions, and the like. To us, image was something. We hooked up a few folders with images, categorized them into a hierarchy of themes, and installed digital picture screens in good locations around the office and connected them to these folders. The images would stream at random on each screen. We then set up an administration area that could be accessed from anywhere on the network that would allow for a user to change the theme, add or delete images, or stop the streams on one or more screens, or even altogether. Pretty slick, eh?

But what about the sounds? We were safe in betting that the folks at Logic Aesthetic weren't wanting chamber music streaming through ceiling speakers with no way to end what was destined to become white noise. For our dear logical and aesthetic friends in Youngstown, we connected them to our online music streaming server (and even took suggestions and requests from them, since they'd be the ones listening), provided them with access to several playlists, and provided a physical link to this server in every area of the office. From here, they were able to stream the main list that would be heard throughout the office on the house speakers in the ceiling. People could also use their personal listening devices, alternate computers/laptops or even mobile phones to any other available list (since every office in the headquarters had the ability to adjust the volume on the house ceiling speakers), which was available wirelessly or from the provided physical connection points.
